Home Programs
For children who have difficulties with self-regulation, (attention, affect, activity level and arousal), we offer customized home programs and specialized instructions, complete with worksheets for parents and other caregivers to carry out at home or at school on a regular basis.
Sometimes home programs get confused with sensory diets, but they are not the same. A sensory diet requires tools like TheraPressure brushes, therapeutic listening or weights. These items help to aid the client in self-regulation and help to focus their attention. Use of a sensory diet promotes better task engagement.
A home program has a different goal. A home program can help a client learn developmental skills with the use of therapy ball exercises and/or fine motor manipulatives. Home programs may also include puzzles, crafts and the use of swings.
